Best known as one half of electronic duo SAATSUMA, Memphis LK has recently released their full-length debut album ”Overflow”. The pair made their mark at BIGSOUND in 2016, and have since played on line ups for Paradise, The Hills Are Alive, St Kilda Festival, The Plot Festival and Melbourne Music Week, as well as sharing the stage with the likes of Dorsal Fins, Willow Beats, Thelma Plum, Olympia, Vera Blue, Yeo and PNAU.
SAATSUMA is the collaboration between Melbourne based producers and composers Memphis LK & Cesar Rodrigues. Birthed in the summer of 2016 as a result of some lowkey writing sessions in North Fitzroy w/ Joel Ma (TZU/Joelistics), SAATSUMA officialised their status as a fundamental component of the burgeoning Melbourne live electronic scene, in which they chose to deconstruct the existing framework and barriers in place, working towards an inclusive platform for all.
SAATSUMA’s most recent offering comes in the shape of a full-length album, “Overflow”, which encapsulates the pair’s glowing production finesse and lyrical dexterity. Combining trademark vocals, beat programming, synth and bass, with an entrancing reference to the overarching theme of water, their debut album, ‘Overflow’ represents the beginning of a prolific future for SAATSUMA.
Danceable and dynamic, yet intimate and emotive, SAATSUMA’s live show is an unmissable and highly immersive sonic experience.
