Be it as the front man of 90s alt-rock powerhouse Jebediah or as Bob Evans (his ARIA award winning, solo storyteller alias) Kevin Mitchell is one of Australia’s most successful songwriters.
Jebediah’s ascension from winning a national campus band competition to signing with Murmer (Silverchair, Something For Kate), catapulted them into the 90’s festival scene. Their 1997 LP ‘Slightly Oddway’ landed at number 15 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 Albums of All Time. It’s difficult to imagine the late 90’s without recalling early Jebediah singles Jerks of Attention, Leaving Home and Animal.
Under the moniker of Bob Evans, Kevin Mitchell has released five albums and earned countless accolades including: Best Male Artist in Rolling Stone Australia’s annual reader poll, Finalist in the Australian Music Prize, an ARIA nomination for Best Male Artist and an ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album.
